Matilda

Project Summary

Matilda is the name of the character that I developed for my 3D Modeling and Animation course. We learned every step in the 3D modeling to animation pipeline; and brought our characters through each step. This included: research, sketches, modeling, sculpting, texturing, rigging, and animating.

This was my first time modeling and animating a humanoid character, I found the organic form of a human quite challenging to model. The biggest challenge however was the hair. I had wanted to have her hair react to physics, or at least animate along with the rest of the character, but I couldn't find the time to spend on it when I had all the other steps to go through. You will notice I had to remove her hair for the final walk-cycle render, but do have a look through the photos section below to see what it looked like.
